"Last of the Country Gentlemen" (2011) é um dos meus discos preferidos de sempre. Um disco tão pungente e intimista que corroí por dentro e por fora. Há quem goste de discos assim. Eu, obviamente, adoro. Por isso, quando Josh começou a lançar os temas "rockeiros" que iam fazer parte do "The Straight Hits!" (2018), o Messias deixou de dar a outra face. Aos poucos, fui-lhe perdoando e até já me acompanhou em loop. Este é o tema redentor que faz com que deixe de o crucificar.

Josh voltou ao formato do fantástico "Last of the Country Gentlemen". Ouch...

Quelques années plus tard, les cheveux sont courts, la barbe taillée, le regard toujours aussi perçant, mais comme plus apaisé. Comme si Josh était revenu d’un long voyage, revenu à la vie après un long pélerinage. Moins à vif, tout aussi intense. Accompagné de la chanteuse Arianna Monteverdi, il commence une longue balade, une prière country, qui transpire l’Amérique des grands espaces, de l’ennui et de la ferveur religieuse. C’est beau, c’est lent, c’est puissant.

Retirado daquele que é, para mim, o melhor disco dos últimos anos. Este tema está presente na banda sonora do excelente filme: "Os Sete Psicopatas". A banda sonora do filme é muito boa.

From the record that is, for me, the best album in years. This song is present in the soundtrack to the excellent film "Seven Psychopaths." The film's soundtrack is very good.

Ontem, pela primeira vez desde que foi criado o espaço Italo-Disco dos domingos, não houve canção. O motivo é simples, não quis que ficasse entre duas canções do JTP. Devo estar a ficar lamechas... O concerto, como esperado foi fenomenal. Mais tarde espero escrever algo mais desenvolvido. PS: Agradeço ao Gato para ter posto uma por mim. Estava na minha lista ;-)

Yesterday, for the first time since the Italo-Disco sundays space was created, i didn't add any song. The reason is simple, i didn't want to put any Italo-Disco song between JTP. I'm becoming a wuss... The concert, as expected was amazing. Latter i hope to write something more elaborated. PS: Thank you Gato, for putting a song for me. It was on my list ;-)

Retirado daquele que é, para mim, o disco de 2011 (Last Of The Country Gentlemen), este tema, tal como o resto do disco, é intimista e sufocante. Mistura um lado religioso com momentos que poderiam sair de um disco de Tom Waits. Uma curiosa combinação... O disco, apesar de ter sido gravado em apenas dois dias, é imprescindível em qualquer boa discografia.
