Antony and the Johnsons: Her Eyes Are Underneath the Ground
Taken from the third album from Antony and the Johnsons, "The Crying Light", this "Her Eyes Are Underneath the Ground" opens the record with one of the initial notes I know. I agree that the word "notes" does not apply very well in this case, since every note that comes out of his voice seems like song, with a vibrato and exceptional timbre. On this record, one of the best of his career, even the cover is fantastic, with a picture of the dancer / guru / teacher Kazuo Ohno, highly accomplished. The song wanders gently by the neoclassical with a naturally unusual, full of melancholy; touching and poignant. Fabulous ...
